Seattle-based creative who believes words can spark change and make compassionate living irresistible.
My Story
I never set out to be a “vegan voice” online.
Growing up in Seattle, I always loved writing, but it was usually in notebooks tucked away in drawers. I knew how comforting it could be, but I didn’t understand its power until later.
When I transitioned to a vegan lifestyle in my early twenties, everything shifted. I found myself documenting recipes, reflections, and little stories about how plant-based living was reshaping not just my plate, but my identity.
The Turning Point
The real turning point came one late night, scrolling through old drafts on my laptop. I stumbled across notes describing the nervous excitement of trying to navigate a grocery store as a brand-new vegan.
The words were raw, honest, and—most importantly—they moved me. That was when I realized that sharing my story might help others who were standing at the same crossroads.
It wasn’t polished at first, but it was authentic, and it felt like a way of reaching out to others who were also searching for guidance and encouragement.
What I Learned the Hard Way
At first, I assumed writing about vegan living was as simple as posting meal ideas or kitchen tips. What I didn’t expect was how deeply people wanted to connect on the emotional side of the journey.
They wanted to hear about the awkward family dinners, the challenges of traveling, and the times I nearly gave up. Over time, I had to treat my craft like a practice—showing up, even when the words felt clunky. That discipline taught me resilience and gave my writing a stronger, more authentic voice.
My Approach Now
These days, my approach to writing is rooted in storytelling. I believe storytelling makes veganism approachable, relatable, and, most importantly, human.
I focus on weaving everyday experiences, small details, and moments of honesty into my writing so people can connect with it personally. Instead of trying to convince, I aim to invite readers into a conversation where curiosity and openness naturally grow.
What I Believe
- Food is a bridge, not a barrier.
- Stories change minds more than statistics.
- Compassion is contagious when expressed authentically.
- Writing should be both honest and inviting.
- Every person has the ability to create ripples of change.
